A very special culture

March 22nd, 2009

My name is Susan Dobis and I have been involved in this project for about 11 months. I have spent a great deal of time researching and learning about the Taino people and have come to truly love this culture and their heritage. The Taino people were so very amazing and this game, at its core, is designed to allow you to experience, as a Taino woman, what it was like to live in this time period in the Caribbean. We really want to give you a taste of this forgotten culture in a way that is fun and exciting. My hope is that you will fall in love with these people and their culture, as I have, and will honor them by understanding the way they lived and appreciating the simpleness of their lives.

Introduction to the Arrival game team

March 21st, 2009

We are very excited to have our core team expanding recently. We have been honored to have Roberto Borrero guiding us along this path almost from its start, truly a vast resource of knowledge who is willing to help us by answering questions and by imparting to us his heart for this people. Koa Feliciano has been awesome in providing photographs to help in the modeling of our characters and scenery. His photographs have inspired many of the stories you will see on our website and you will see this environment for yourself as you peruse his photos on our site. Steve Finney, our 3D modeler who has been involved in this project longer than I have, has made one of our characters come to life in a way that I never dreamed possible. We recently have been privileged to have Adam Helweh join us and he has already worked his magic with his graphic art skills. Josh Samuels, our fearless leader, has encouraged and inspired all of us. This has been his dream for many years and his excitement is contagious. A professional writer may be joining our team very soon and will fill in a huge gap in our areas of expertise. We could definitely use more team members, but it is very exciting to see key gaps filling in and progress in this project being made!
